The RNS Big Wrap for Nurses Golden Bed Pan Bed Races is a nursing industry bed racing event held each May on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.

RNS, the Sunshine Coast based nursing agency, is the organiser of the event, held in celebration of nurses each year.

Nurses, midwives and carers from across the nursing industry race in teams of 4 on a time-trialled, challenge filled, race course.

There are many prizes to be won with the ultimate prize for 1st place being the QNC sponsored $1000 cheque and CQUniversity Australia's Golden Bed Pan Trophy.

Date: Saturday, May 8, 2010
Time: 1:00pm - 4:00pm
Location: Sunshine Coast Grammar, 372 Mons Road, Forest Glen, Sunshine Coast, QLD, Australia

Whether you are a newcomer to the Golden Bed Pan Bed Races, or have been here every year, we have some answers to questions that might be useful for you:

  • A Bed Race Team consists of 4 team members: 1 plays the role of patient & 3 are the bed-pushing nurses.
  • RNS supplies the bed pan full of liquid and the hospital beds (more details later).
  • In the 2010 races every team will run twice in the time trials with your team’s best clocked time being used. The 2 best-timed teams will go on to the 3rd and final race.
  • If you are not a sponsor to the event, but wish to enter a bed race team in the races and/or attend the after-race trackside celebrations, please contact Debbie Cassar at RNS on info@regionalnursingsolutions.com.au for the entry form, cost of entry and what's included.
  • Further info about the theme, the race course layout, rules, and more will follow soon.

The sponsors of the 2010 event are Sundale & Eden Rehabilitation Centre; Sunshine Coast Private Hospital; Sunshine Coast & Wide Bay HSD, CQUniversity Australia; Noosa Care Inc and Queensland Nursing Council. Thank you for your support.
